“Wer rastet, der rostet” goes an old German proverb, which translates to “If you rest, you rust”. As a professional translator, who is ATA certified, I’m not only encouraged but also required to pursue continuing education. A great way to do so is by attending the annual conference of our trade association. This year, this conference is going to take place during the last week of October and it will be in Palm Springs, CA (https://www.atanet.org/conf/2019). I am very much looking forward to being there and not only attend a wide variety of lectures and workshops but also to meet old friends and make some new connections. And of course, we in the Northwest welcome the change in scenery during that time of the year. Maybe I should also pack some sunscreen, just in case?
