As a medial interpreter, I am fortunate to be among the first group of people to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. My first dose was administered today at Fred Hutch in Seattle. Needless to say, I am extremely grateful for the hospital that made that happen.

All pharmaceutical companies who manufacture a COVID-19 vaccine are in the process of delivering various quantities of the vaccine within the next couple of months. Unfortunately, there simply is not enough vaccine available for the entire population within a short period of time, and many people will have to wait until spring or even early summer, before they will be eligible to receive a vaccine. Until then we will all have to continue wearing masks and obeying social-distancing rules.
I’m confident that we will all get through this together eventually.
